PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced Friday that it has arranged an intra-departmental competition for its student-athletes and coaches to raise money for sports-specific accounts as the Braves dive into the remainder of the 2022-23 athletic season.

All donations to the campaign which has been donned "Back The Braves" will be deposited into each sport's restricted account, and will only be utilized by that specific sport. The team that boasts the most amount of new donors at the end of the competition, filtered via a donor-to-roster size ratio, will be crowned as the winner of this season's competition and be rewarded with a prize package from adidas.
 
The department's social media pages will provide updated standings throughout the week, and supporters of each team are invited to have lunch with the Braves on January 20 as part of the competition. Pre-event donations have been enabled for those donors wishing to get a head start on the action.
