PEMBROKE – Athletic department officials at The University of North Carolina Pembroke announced on Wednesday that Andrew Daffer has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance.

Daffer treks to Pembroke following a strength and conditioning fellowship at Furman with the men's basketball team where he took the lead on nutrition and supplementation efforts with the team and assisted in different trainings and rehab programs. He also made stops at Florida Atlantic and Wingate working with various teams in strength and conditioning.

"We are excited to have Andrew join BraveNation," said Director of Athletics Scott Byrd. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and has the right background to help our athletes reach their full potential on and off the field of play."

A former lacrosse student-athlete at Wingate, Daffer served as a graduate assistant coach with the Bulldogs for one season.

"I am so excited to be a part of #BraveNation and look forward to contributing to the incredible culture of excellence that is well established here at UNCP," said Daffer. GO BRAVES!"

Daffer earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Wingate in 2022 and then completed his master's degree in sports management at Wingate in 2024.
