VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Mahala Evans broke her own school record while Lucas Nervo, Delsin Burkhart, Wyatt Kuhnemann and Jack Phieffer teamed up for the Distance Medley Relay event title on Friday for the opening day of the NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.
 
Evans broke her own month-long school record in the 60-meter Dash logging a time of 7.65 to help her to an eighth-place finish in the semifinals. The freshman will advance to the finals set for Saturday. 
 
On the men's side, the Distance Medley Relay squad cruised to a 1^st place finish with a time of 10:21.71. DaMarr Harvey registered a personal-best time of 6.89 in the prelims of the 60-meter Dash, while Bennie Oxendine placed fifth in Shot Put with a mark of 13.84-meters. 
 
The Braves will conclude weekend competition on Saturday for the final day of the NCAA Pre-National meet.
