Box Score PEMBROKE – Visiting Mercy used four walks, five bean balls and a trio of costly errors to build an 11-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning, and then held off a handful of late rallies by the 13^th-ranked UNC Pembroke baseball team to register a 15-11 upset of the Braves on Tuesday evening at Sammy Cox Field.
 
The setback snapped a 14-game home win streak for the Braves (9-1) who will continue an eight-game home stand this weekend against Shepherd at Sammy Cox Field. It was the second win in the last three outings for the Mavericks (2-3) who are in the midst of a 10-game spring break road trip through the Carolinas.

KEY INNINGS
TOP 3	A failed pickoff attempt led to the game's first run as Jaden Caballero knocked in Sean McAdams who had registered a one-out single earlier in the frame, and advanced to third on the errant throw by the Braves. It was déjà vu all over again later in the frame when another errant pickoff attempt preceded a RBI single from Justin Glennerster.
TOP 4	The Mavericks utilized three hit batsmen, two walks and a pair of hits to tack up nine more runs in the fourth and push their lead out to 11-0. Mercy loaded the bases with its first three at-bats of the frame, and followed with three run-scoring at-bats, including a bases-loaded walk and an ensuing hit by pitch.
