PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that soccer's Mercy Bell and football's Saige Ley have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on September 10, 2023. 
  
A native of Jacksonville, Bell logged her first collegiate hat trick on Saturday against Converse. The sophomore played 57 minutes and logged four shots, three of which were on target. 
 
Ley recorded 11 tackles against West Virginia State during Thursday's contest. The Cranberry Township, Pa., native logged five solo tackles and six assists.
