PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that volleyball's Abby Peduzzi and football's Jo Hayes have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on September 22, 2024. 

A product of Hilton Head, S.C., Peduzzi started in all three contests last week and logged double-doubles in both matches against Mars Hill and Lenoir-Rhyne. The sophomore posted a career-high 22 kills and 21 dogs against Mars Hill. Peduzzi also hit .304 on Wednesday at North Greenville. 

Hayes caught four passes for a total of 68 yards in Saturday's contest at Charleston. A native of Peanut City, Va., Hayes tallied a pair of touchdown passes and returned a kickoff for 21 yards.
