BETHLEHEM, PA. – Ed Carney turned in an 81st-place finish in the men's 8K to help lead the team to a 21st-place finish, while Sofia Skidmore placed 27th in the women's 6K on Friday afternoon at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.

Ed Carney crossed in 25:51.1 with Ryan Ibarra 89th at 25:55.9. Kelvin Kibet (26:24.2) was 136th, Antony Kigen (26:26.8) took 136th, with Conrad Robertson (26:27.2) taking 145th. Payden Lewis finished 246th in a time of 27:29.0, Will Clancey was 273rd at 27:59.1, while Daniel Mejias took 274th in a time of 27:59.6 to round out the men's finishers.

Skidmore covered the 6K course in a time of 23:59.3, while Jana Termos placed 98th with a time of 25:32.2. Lizzy Laurine tallied a 248th place finish with a time of 30:24.5. 

The men's squad finished with 584 points to take 21st, while the women's team did not get a team score for having a pair of runners not finish the race. 
 
UNCP will resume its race schedule on Friday, October 10 at the Royals Challenge. The Queens-hosted event will take place at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte. Races are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
