PEMBROKE – A strong performance on the court and in the classroom paid dividends for the UNC Pembroke volleyball team when four student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
Tyler Patterson, Abby Peduzzi and Brette Doile all earned the recognition for the second consecutive season, while Savannah Whaley earned the honor for the first time.

The announcement marks the fourth consecutive year that the Black & Gold has been represented on the distinguished list. It is the first time the program has sent four players to the distinguished list, but is the third time the program has had more than two players honored. 
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
