Box Score WINGATE — UNC Pembroke hit .208 and held Wingate to a season-low .069 hitting percentage on the way to a 3-0 road sweep Tuesday night at Cuddy Arena.

The Braves held Wingate to its lowest hitting percentage since the Bulldogs recorded an .049 against Carson-Newman on November 22, 2019. 

UNCP (21-7) snapped a 27-match losing streak against Wingate (14-10), winning for the first time since November 9, 1999.

SET 1 I 25-16	The Braves won the race to 10, jumping ahead 10-6 on an Abby Peduzzi kill. Wingate would score the next point to make it 10-7, but the UNCP lead never fell below four points the rest of the set.      - UNCP out-hit Wingate .343 to .083 in the set.     - Abby Peduzzi picked up five kills with Addie Decker chipping in three.     - Emily Collings and Grace Brewington each logged a service ace.
SET 2 I 25-22	Wingate took a 17-14 lead, but three straight UNCP points knotted the set back up. The set would enter the late stages in a 20-20 tie, but the Braves took five of the last seven points to claim the set.     - UNCP out-hit Wingate .190 to .111 in the set.     - Peduzzi was on fire once again, racking up eight kills.     - Decker and Deorri Gaines teamed up for three block assists, while Gaines also added a solo block.
SET 3 I 25-16	UNCP knotted the set at 10-10 on a kill from Alexandria Mills, and then won the next four points to take control of the set. Wingate got as close as 19-15, but the Braves took six of the last seven points as Decker closed the match out with a kill.     - UNCP out-hit Wingate .116 to .020 in the set.      - Peduzzi finished the set with a team-high three kills.
