Softball Duo Earn All-Conference Honors, Two Earn At-Large Bids

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Postseason accolades began to trickle in for the UNC Pembroke Softball on Wednesday when Chloe Locklear and Summer Bullard each earned all-conference honors, while Emma Wrenn and Kaitlynn Hunt both earned at-large all-conference nods, league officials announced. 

The announcement marks the 13th-straight season that the Braves have sent at least one representative to an all-conference team. It is the third all-conference nod for Locklear, the second for Bullard and the first for Wrenn and Hunt. 
  
A product of Purnell Swett High School, Locklear picked up first-time all-conference honors after hitting .338 in conference play. A native of Pembroke, Locklear started in all 28 conference games and drove in 34 runs. The redshirt junior added four doubles and seven homers during conference play, while registering 105 defensive putouts this season. 
 
A native of Pembroke, Bullard earned second-team all-conference honors posting a 2.43 ERA in conference games this season. The senior went 10-3 in the circle for the Black & Gold while throwing 11 complete games. Bullard threw 89.1 innings in conference action while striking out 71 batters. She held batters to a .243 batting average. 

A product of Mint Hill, Wrenn earned a spot on the at-large all-conference team after batting .368 in league play. The junior saw action and started in 26 games and finished the conference season with two doubles and three triples. Wrenn was a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts and drove in seven runs. 

An every day starter for the Black & Gold, Hunt hit .356 during conference action and drove in 13 runs. A native of Fuquay-Varina, Hunt finished conference play with six doubles and two home runs, while drawing five walks. The sophomore did not commit one error, turned five double-plays and made 182 putouts.
