GREENVILLE, S.C. - A solid week at the plate paid dividends for UNC Pembroke softball's Chloe Locklear who has been named as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, league officials announced Tuesday.
A native of Pembroke, Locklear helped the Braves to a 2-0 week with a doubleheader sweep at Ferrum on Tuesday. The redshirt junior went 5-for-8 from the plate during the series and drove in seven runs. Locklear registered a home run in both games of the doubleheader.
Locklear leads the Black & Gold batting .400 and ranks first on the team with 42 runs batted in. The everyday starter has nine home runs this season which ranks third in Conference Carolinas.
