Football Welcomes No. 17 North Greenville Saturday For American Indian Heritage Day

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke football team will host Conference Carolinas foe No. 17 North Greenville on Saturday for American Indian Heritage Day presented by the Town of Pembroke. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Grace P. Johnson Stadium. 
 
The Braves (4-1, 1-0 CC) enter Saturday's game on a three-game win streak following a 24-6 victory at home against Monroe. The Trailblazers (4-0, 1-0 CC) are 3-0 this season when playing on the road. 
 
Saturday's conference contest will mark the ninth time the two teams have met. NGU leads the all-time series 5-3 and have won the last two meetings with UNCP.

WHAT TO KNOW
Braves Club Hospitality: The Braves Club hospitality tent will be located inside the stadium, giving members exclusive access to view pregame warmups while enjoying conversation, food, and drinks. The hospitality tent will open 30 minutes prior to kickoff and remain open throughout the whole game for guests.

Parking: Parking in Lot 14 (across from Grace P. Johnson Stadium) is available for $5 for students, and $5 for the general public. Ushers will be available at both entrances to collect payment, as well as answer questions. Space in the parking lots adjacent to the stadium and Caton Fieldhouse are open to passholders only.

Tailgating: Fans may tailgate beginning at 8:30 a.m. Complete tailgating policies can be accessed by visiting this page.


Clear Bag Policy: Fans entering Grace P. Johnson Stadium will be asked to have a clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". All bags are subject to be searched upon entry. 
 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
American Indian Heritage Day Celebration: UNCP will celebrate its American Indian heritage with the display of several tribal regalia, including performances by tribal dancers and drummers in full Lumbee Tribe regalia. There will also be American Indian vendors setup on the concourse of the stadium.

Coin Toss: Lumbee Tribe Chairman, John L. Lowery, will join the team captains for coin toss prior to the start of the game.


Game Ball Delivery: The game ball was be delivered by Allen Dial, mayor of the Town of Pembroke.


National Anthem: 2026 Miss Lumbee and current UNC Pembroke student, Anna Hunt, will sing the National Anthem. 

Commemorative Shirts: Commemorative UNCP Athletics and Lumbee Tribe shirts will be available for purchase at the Spirit Shop inside Grace P. Johnson Stadium. Shirts are $25. A limited quantity is available.
