ROANOKE, Va. – Sophomore Sammy Peticos rebounded from a tough loss in his opening match with three wins in the consolation bracket, while all-American Nick Daggett and Brandon Sloop tacked up multiple wins on the day as well, to highlight action for the UNC Pembroke wrestling team on Sunday at the Virginia Tech-hosted Hokie Open.
 
Ten different wrestlers registered at least one victory on the day for the Black & Gold who officially kicked off its 2018-19 campaign at the event in Roanoke, Va. A total of 25 wrestlers saw action on the mat for the Braves in the Berglund Center.
 
UNCP will make its home debut on November 11 when the Braves suit up to host the 37^th Annual Pembroke Classic inside the English E. Jones Center. Wrestling action is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m.
