MORGANTON – Maddy Corley fired a 2-over-par 74 in the opening round to settle into a share of 11^th place on the individual leaderboard and lead the UNC Pembroke golf team to an eighth place standing after day one of the NCAA Division I-heavy Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate at the 6,077-yard, par-72 Mimosa Hills Country Club.
 
Corley (+2) carded four birdies on Sunday and is just five strokes off the pace set by Wofford's Nicole Chin who sits atop the leaderboard after turning in a 3-under-par 69 in the first round. Megan Munroe (+6) is among an eight-way tie for 33^rd place, while Savannah Thompson, Alexandria Bare and Katy Flax are all tied for the 41^st position.
 
Wofford (+7) leads the rest of the 16-team field heading into Monday's final round. Troy (+9) and Elon share second place, while USC Upstate (+12) and James Madison (+15) round out the top 5. The event for the field is comprised of just five non-NCAA Division I teams.
 
Monday's action is scheduled to resume with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
