Brianna Warren - Player of the Week

Warren Earns Conference Carolinas Player Of The Week Laurel

October 10, 2022

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Having achieved a career blocks milestone while also registering a staggering offensive week at the net for the UNC Pembroke volleyball team, Brianna Warren was named as the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon.

An everyday starter for the Black & Gold, Warren averaged 3.55 kills per set, 1.45 blocks per set and 4.55 points per set for the Braves in road wins over Chowan, King and Lees-McRae last week. She started in all three contests and logged double-figure kills against all three Conference Carolinas opponents as well.

A native of Indian Trail, Warren opened the week with an 11-kill, 5-block performance at Chowan – a performance that helped push the redshirt senior over the 500-block plateau for her career. She nearly matched a career-best in kills on Saturday with 15 at King, and closed out the stretch with 13 kills and seven blocks at Lees-McRae.

Through 23 matches, Warren has recorded 257 points, 192 kills and 88 total blocks. She currently leads the league in total blocks and ranks fifth among league leaders in points.

Warren and the Braves (13-10, 10-1 CC) will be back in action at home on Wednesday when they lock horns with rival Francis Marion in the Battle of I-95. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court and admission is free.
