SNOW HILL – Georgia Page and Amanda Hamrin each carded a one-over-par 73 on Sunday at the Conference Carolinas Championships to position the UNC Pembroke golf team in second place after the opening round at Cutter Creek Golf Club. 
 
Page (+1) and Hamrin (+1) currently lead the individual tournament after the first round of action with both of them recording a trio of birdies apiece. Samantha DeBusk (+11), Toni Blackwell (+11), and Elizabeth Ritchie (+11) rounded out the scoring for the Black & Gold among a four-way tie for 27^th place. 
 
UNCP finished the first round with a tournament-best seven birdies and are tied with Belmont Abbey with 53 pars. Belmont Abbey currently holds a two-stroke lead over UNC Pembroke. 
 
The Braves will be back in action on Monday for the second round of the Conference Championship at Cutter Creek Golf Club.
