Addison Ellsworth has been named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
A native of Greensboro, Ellsworth started the week by recording two saves to help the Braves end Francis Marion's 14-match winning streak. The freshman closed out the week by logging two saves in the 2-0 win over Barton.
Ellsworth has turned in nine clean sheets during Conference Carolinas play, which ranks second in the league, while carrying an .854 save percentage.
