Soccer Lands Four On All-Conference Team

November 7, 2025

GREENVILLE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke soccer's Freya Lodge Whitham, Eugenie Amidou, Mercy Bell, and Eli Soderberg each earned a spot on the All-Conference Carolinas team released Friday afternoon.

Lodge Whitham was tabbed to the first team at defender after playing every minute for the Black & Gold and anchoring a back line that allowed just 0.62 goals per match in conference play, good for second in Conference Carolinas. The Christchurch, New Zealand native also played an integral role in the Braves turning in ten shutouts over the regular season. The selection marks the second-consecutive year Lodge Whitham has been named to the All-Conference first team.

Amidou was voted to the second team as a midfielder after logging four goals and three assists. The Montreal, Quebec, Canada native played the full 90 minutes in all but two matches, and recorded both goals in the 2-0 win over Ferrum while also logging her first career multi-goal match. The selection is Amidou's second-consecutive and third career appearance on an All-Conference Carolinas team.

Bell joined Amidou on the second team as a forward after registering seven goals in the regular season. The Jacksonville native scored her 45th career goal in the win over Barton on November 1, setting a new program record for career goals, while also breaking the career record for multi-goal matches with her 12th against Belmont Abbey on October 18. The announcement marks the fourth-consecutive selection for Bell on an All-Conference Carolinas team, becoming just the third Brave in program history to complete the feat, joining Jasmine Senecal-Guzman and Anna Grossheim.

Soderberg was selected to the third team at midfielder after tallying two goals and an assist, highlighted by her game winner with two seconds left in the 1-0 win over Mount Olive. The Stockholm, Sweden native played the full 90 minutes in all but two games for the Braves in the regular season.

The announcement marked the 12th-straight year that the Braves have boasted multiple All-Conference representatives, and the fourth-consecutive season it has sent at least four players to the All-Conference squad.

The No. 3 seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the Black & Gold will begin its quest for a tournament championship on Saturday, November 8 as it hosts No. 11 seed Ferrum in the quarterfinals. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m at LREMC Stadium.
