Women’s Hoops Travels To Flagler Saturday

PEMBROKE – The UNC Pembroke women's basketball team make trek to St. Augustine, Fla., to face Flalger in a non-conference contest on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside the Flalger Gymnasium.
 
Fans unable to make the trip to St. Augustine can follow the game for free via a live video stream courtesy of Flagler on the PBC Sports Network. Live statistics will also be provided by Flagler.

Series Notes
Saturday will mark the 25th time that the two teams have met. Flagler leads the all-time series 11-13 and have won the last two meetings including a 69-65 victory over UNC Pembroke on Feb. 22, 2021 in Pembroke. 
Scouting Reports
UNC Pembroke
  • UNC Pembroke enters Saturday's game following a 63-58 victory over Ferrum on Tuesday. The Braves shot 37.7 percent from the floor and scored 32 points from inside the paint. 
  • The Black & Gold are averaging 60.0 points per game and are shooting 38.9 percent from the field. Opponents are averaging 67.1 points per contest and are shooting 40.7 percent from the floor. 
  • UNCP averages 12.6 free throws per contest and 8.6 assists per game. The Braves also are averaging 16.3 turnovers per game which opponents score 12.5 from each outing.
  • Junior Natalie Evington scored a game-high 15 points on Tuesday and went 5-for-10 from the perimeter. Evington has started in all eight games and is shooting 30.5 percent from the perimeter. 
Flagler
  • Flagler heads into Saturday's matchup following a heartbreaking 56-55 setback at Middle Georiga State on Wednesday. The Saints held a one-point lead with five seconds remaining after Marley Smith knocked down a three, but Middle Georgia State's Mauryah Jones made a jumper as time expired to give the Knights the victory. 
  • FC is averaging 72.2 points per game and is shooting 43.4 percent from the field. They are limiting opponents to 69.8 points per game and are shooting 42.6 percent from the floor.
  • Flalger commits 20.2 turnovers per game which allows opponents to score 20.5 points. The Saints force their opponents into 15.3 turnovers per game and score 15.4 points from those miscues. 
  • Natalie Herrin is averaging 10.8 points and 6.7 rebounds for Flagler. The senior tallied her second double-double of the season on Wednesday with 12 points and 10 rebounds at Middle Georgia State.
