Marta Ortega carded a 10-over-par in the final round of action as the UNC Pembroke golf team finished fourth at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on Tuesday at the Country Club of Salisbury.
A native of Mallorca, Spain, Ortega (+26) finished in 18th place and was 19 strokes off pace of Justine Bayle of Tampa, who won the individual tournament with a three-round total of 220.
Chessa Lee (+27) moved up two spots on the leaderboard to finish in 19th place, while freshman
Catherine DeSiena (+30) placed 21st.
Melissa Guerra Landa (+34) moved into 24th place,, while
Michelle Guerra Landa (+38) rounded out the scoring and finished tied for 27th place.
Ella Reed (+51) placed 34th, while
Lauren Locklear (+70) and
Maya Fitzgerald (+83) finished in 37th and 38th place, respectively. The trio are all playing as individuals.
The Braves will now turn their attention to the Conference Carolinas Championships set to begin on April 6. The three-day tournament will be played at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.
