SNOW HILL – Freshman Catherine DeSiena carded a four-over-par in the second round of action to help keep the UNC Pembroke golf team in second place at the Conference Carolinas Championship on Monday at Cutter Creek Golf Club.  

A native of Oakridge, DeSiena (+8) sits in a three-way tie for fifth place and is four strokes behind Maddie McNeece of Erskine, who leads the tournament at four-over-par for the two rounds. Senior Chessa Lee (+10) is in a four-way tie for ninth place, while Michelle Guerra Landa (+16) made a jump on the leaderboard after shooting a four-over-par 76 in the second round and is in a five-way tie for 17th place. Marta Ortega (+19) is in a tie for 28th place, while Melissa Guerra Landa (+23) rounded out the scoring for the Black & Gold in a three-way tie for 40th place. 

The Braves will play their final round of the Conference Carolinas Championship on Tuesday at Cutter Creek Golf Club.
