SALISBURY – Kasen McCawley picked up another award following his no-hitter last weekend, as the right-hander was named Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). 

The senior hurled the first UNC Pembroke no-hitter since 2022 — and the first solo no-hitter since 2009 — in Game 2 of the series against Shorter, striking out ten to go along with no walks. The Haw River native became the eighth UNC Pembroke pitcher to earn the honor, and first since Seth Willis brought home the award last April.

McCawley (8-1) leads Conference Carolinas in wins, and is one of just three pitchers in Division II with eight wins.
