SPARTANBURG, S.C. -  Marta Ortega logged a team-best six-over-par in the second round of action as the UNC Pembroke golf team sits in ninth place on Tuesday afternoon in the Conference Carolinas Tournament at The Carolina Country Club. 

Ortega (+10) moved up the leaderboard into 10th place and is 10 strokes behind Ella Wiklander of Belmont Abbey who still leads the individual tournament with an even par.  Catherine DeSiena (+12) is in a three-way tie for 11th place, while Maya Fitzgerald (+28) is in a four-way tie for 40th place. Melissa Guerra Landa (+33) sits in 48th place, while Ella Woo (+24) is in 62nd place. 

The Braves will play the final round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on Tuesday at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.
