SPARTANBURG, S.C. -  Marta Ortega carded a seven-over-par in the final round of action as the UNC Pembroke golf team finished tied for ninth at the Conference Carolinas Championship on Tuesday afternoon at The Carolina Country Club. 

Ortega (+17) finished the tournament in four-way tie for 10th place and finished 12 strokes behind Lina Lindqvist of Erskine who won the individual tournament. Catherine DeSiena (+18) shot a team-best 78 in the final round of action to finish in a three-way tie for 14th place, while Maya Fitzgerald (+36) finished in a three-way tie for 38th place. Melissa Guerra Landa (+54) placed 47th in the championship, while Taylor Black finished in a tie for 58th place. 

Marta Ortega was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team following the championship.
