Kasen McCawley NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week

McCawley Tabbed NCBWA National Pitcher Of The Week

April 2, 2026

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The accolades continued for Kasen McCawley as the right-hander capped off his historic weekend by being crowned as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Week following his no-hitter on Saturday against Shorter.

McCawley, a Haw River product, hurled the first UNC Pembroke no-hitter since 2022 — and the first solo no-hitter since 2009 — in Game 2 of the series against Shorter, striking out ten to go along with no walks. The senior becomes just the second Brave in program history to take home the award, after Branden Kunz earned the honor during the 2023 season.

Earlier this week, McCawley became the eighth UNC Pembroke pitcher to earn the NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week award.

McCawley (8-1) leads Conference Carolinas in wins, and is one of just three pitchers in Division II with eight wins.
