PEMBROKE – Five home games, including an October 23 Homecoming matchup and a mid-September tilt under the lights of Grace P. Johnson Stadium, highlight the 11-game UNC Pembroke football schedule that was released on Tuesday morning by head coach
Shane Richardson.
Reserved-seat season tickets for the 2021 season have already gone on sale and the 5-game package can be purchased for $107 at UNCPBraves.com/Tickets. Braves Club members will get early access to those seats through Thursday, while
season ticket packages will be made available to the general public beginning on Friday (July 30). For questions regarding football season tickets, contact the UNCP Athletic Ticket Office at (910) 775-4123, or email
tickets@uncp.edu.
The Braves will open the season on September 4 against a familiar foe as the Black & Gold packs up its show and heads to Winston-Salem to renew its rivalry with Winston-Salem State inside Bowman Gray Stadium. UNCP will open the conference portion of the slate the following week (September 11) when it makes the long trek to Buckhannon, W.Va., to lock horns with Mountain East Conference foe West Virginia State.
The comfy confines of home await the Braves on September 18 when it suits up to host Glenville State in its lone evening tilt of the campaign, and will battle Fairmont State on September 25 to highlight Robeson County Schools Day on campus.
The Black & Gold hits the road again on October 2 when it makes a rare trip to Maryland to take on Frostburg State, but will play in front of its home fans twice in the next three weeks, including a Homecoming matchup on October 23 against Charleston. That matchup will be preceded by an October 9 home tilt with Wheeling, as well as a road trip to Institute, W.Va., where the Black & Gold will battle West Virginia State.
The Braves will take on West Liberty for the first time in nine years when they travel to northern West Virginia on October 30, and will close out the home portion of their 2021 schedule on November 6 when they tussle with defending MEC champion and perennial national contender Notre Dame (Ohio) in Pembroke.
The regular season is scheduled to conclude on November 13 when the Braves continue their 7-game-old series with Concord at CU's Callaghan Stadium.
