Football Sends 14 To All-Conference Teams, Turner And Etute Earn Major Awards

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Postseason honors started to roll in for the UNC Pembroke football team on Thursday when Hunter Turner was named Conference Carolinas Offensive Lineman of the Year and Isi Etute picked up Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of Year, to go along with 14 all-conference honors, league officials announced.
 
The announcement marks the most all-conference honors in program history for the Black & Gold. 
 
Turner, Etute, Que Kennedy, JaQuan Albright, Jadin Baptist, and Donovan Woods all earned first team all-conference honors, while Tre Robinson, Malik Brown, Amari Chance, Dylan Pruitt, Laden Ford-Boone, Marquis Raspberry, Darrell Scott and Justin Foreman all earned second team all-conference nods. 
 
A native of Gaffney, S.C., Turner started every game and helped anchor the offense to average 34.3 points per game. The redshirt junior also played a key role in the UNCP offense averaging 446.4 yards per game and scoring 30 touchdowns in conference play. 
 
Etute finished the season leading Conference Carolinas in tackles for loss yards with 15. The redshirt junior also was atop the league standing in sacks with five. Etute had12 solo tackles for a loss of yards, while finishing the season with 50 total tackles, 28 of which were solo tackles. 
 
A product of Ocala, Fla., Kennedy averaged 84.4 receiving yards per game and scored six touchdowns in conference play. The sophomore finished the conference season with 591 receiving yards.
 
Albright averaged a league-best 88.0 receiving yards per game in Conference Carolinas games. The Winston-Salem native also logged a conference-best 616 receiving yards and scored four touchdowns during the conference season. 

Baptist helped anchor a defense that allowed just 17.6 points per game and 15 touchdowns. The Aberdeen native logged 49 tackles during conference games, 31 of which were solo tackles. Baptist also had 5.5 tackles for a loss of 17 yards during the season. 
 
Woods also was instrumental on the defensive side of the ball tallying 25 solo tackles during the conference season. The Charlotte native averaged 4.9 tackles per game.
 
Robinson finished the season leading the conference in passing yards with 1,717 total yards. The sophomore threw for a league-best 19 touchdowns and averaged 245.3 passing yards per game. The Charlotte native also ran the ball for 345 yards and six touchdowns during the season. 
 
Brown caught 18 passes during the season for a total of 391 yards. The sophomore registered five receiving touchdowns, including a 74-yard touchdown reception during the conference season. 
 
Chance and Pruitt both started in every game this season and helped the offense to much success. The Black & Gold finished third in the league for rushing yards averaging 182.3 yards per game, and led the league in passing yards with 264.1 total yards. Chance and Pruitt 
 
An everyday starter for the Black & Gold, Ford-Boone finished the season with 14 solo tackles 5.5 tackles for a loss of yards. The Charlotte native also had a pair of quarterback hurries against conference opponents as well.
 
Raspberry forced a pair of fumbles against conference opponents this season and had 19 solo tackles. The redshirt junior broke up one pass and also had 1.5 sacks on the season. 
 
Scott registered 14 solo tackles against Conference Carolinas teams this season and broke up four passes. The Brandywine, Md., native also had one interception this season and 1.5 tackles for a loss of yards. 
 
A native of Greenville, Foreman finished the season with six pass breakups and two interceptions. The redshirt junior tallied 58 yards on interceptions including one touchdown.
