PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that soccer's Ashleigh Harris and football's Sincere Baines have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on October 15, 2023. 
  
Harris played a key role in helping the Braves go 2-0 on the week. A native of Oceanside, Calif., Harris registered just her second hat trick for the Black & Gold on Saturday against Erskine. The redshirt senior capped off senior day with a career-best three assists against the Flying Fleet as well. 
 
A product of Jack Britt High School, Baines rushed 19 different times for a total of 186-yards during Saturday's victory over Fairmont State. The freshman rushed for a pair of touchdowns, including a 69-yard touchdown, and averaged 9.8 yards per carry. Baines also caught a pair of passes for a total of 47 yards.
