Braves of the Week - 11-20

Pepe Pugliese, Joll Named Braves Of The Week

PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that swimming's Benedetta Pepe Pugliese and wrestling's Scott Joll have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on November 19, 2023. 
  
Pepe Pugliese logged first place finishes in the 200-yard Individual Medley, 400-yard Individual Medley, and 200-yard Breaststroke. The freshman swam a leg on the 800-yard Freestyle Relay team that took top honors. The Avellino, Italy, native logged NCAA B Standard times in the 200 Breaststroke and 400-yard Individual Medley. 

A graduate student, Joll defeated the 12th-ranked wrestler in the nation for the 174-pound weight class on Thursday. The Belle Vernon, Pa., native took down Brandon Matthews of Lander by a major decision.
