PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Kelci Adams and men's basketball's Nygell Verdier have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on November 26, 2023. 
  
An everyday starter for the Black & Gold, Adams finished the week averaging 33.5 minutes per game and 11.0 points per game. The Fort Mill, S.C., native scored a team-high 14 points against Lenoir-Rhyne on Sunday and was 6-for-14 from the field. Adams also added seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block for the week.
 
A native of Charlotte, Verdier averaged a double-double over three games with 11 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Verdier has logged double-figure rebounds in four contests this season. The junior's week was highlighted by a double-double performance against Columbus State on Sunday with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
