PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that golf's Catherine DeSiena and football's Jamae Blank have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on November 3, 2024. 

A native of Oakridge, DeSiena paced the Braves to a fourth place finish as a team in the Converse Fall Invite. DeSiena finished the three rounds with a 16-over-par 232 for the three round tournament and finished tied for 13th place. The freshman shot a team-best for the tournament with a 72 in the final round. 

A product of Durham, Blank broke up four passes during Saturday's 79-20 victory against West Virginia Wesleyan. The redshirt senior intercepted a pass for 15-yards with also adding one solo tackle. Blank also registered one quarterback hurry during Saturday's game.
