PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Zaria Clark and men's basketball's Dallas Gardner have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on December 3, 2023. 
  
An everyday starter for the Black & Gold, Clark averaged 19.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game to help the Braves to a 2-0 week. A native of Stanley, Clark started the week with a double-double performance against Newberry with 22 points and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes of action. She finished the week with 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists against Southern Wesleyan. 
 
A native of Charlotte, Gardner provided key minutes for the Braves off of the bench with an 11-point outing against Southern Wesleyan. The freshman finished the contest with a 4-for-7 shooting performance and pulled down four rebounds. Gardner also tallied five steals and two blocks in 21 minutes of work.
