PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Kelci Adams and football's Colin Johnson have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on November 17, 2024. 

A native of Fort Mill, S.C., Adams averaged 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game to help the Braves pick up a pair regional wins at the Anderson Challenge. The graduate student started the weekend with her second double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds against Anderson, followed by a 14-point and eight rebound performance against Georgia Southwestern. Adams knocked down the game-winning shot against Anderson on Friday night. 

A product of Lee County High School, Johnson polished off his collegiate career by shattering the school record for most touchdown passes in a single season with his performance on Saturday. The redshirt senior helped the Black & Gold to a 63-7 victory at Concord on Saturday where he threw for 451 yards and five touchdowns. Johnson was 23-for-35 on pass completions during Saturday's victory as well.
