December 10, 2023

PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Kalaya Hall and swimming's Ketlyn Rodriguez Matos have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on December 10, 2023.

A native of Beulaville, Hall turned in a 20-point performance on Saturday playing an integral part of the team's overtime victory against Winston-Salem State. Hall played 38 minutes and dished out seven assists, including assisting on the game-winning basket. The senior also pulled down four rebounds and had a pair of blocks during Saturday's contest.

Rodriguez Matos won a trio of events on Friday at the Lenoir-Rhyne Tri-Meet. The Ponce, Puerto Rico native logged first-place finishes in the 100-yard Breaststroke, 100-yard Freestyle and the 200-yard Breaststroke.
