PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Stella Mollica and men's basketball's Dallas Gardner have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on January 12, 2025.

A native of Mohnton, Pa., Mollica averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists across a pair of games last week. The senior started the week with seven assists, six points and five rebounds against Barton, and closed out the week matching a career-best with 16 points and seven rebounds against King. Mollica ranks third in the nation for overall assists on the season with 95 through 16 games. 

Gardner averaged 24.0 points and 6.5 rebounds through a pair of victories last week. A native of Charlotte, Gardner's week started with a career-high 32 points against Barton where he also pulled down eight rebounds. The sophomore posted 16 points on Saturday against King. Gardner is averaging 16.0 points per game and is shooting 47.4 percent from the field this season.
