Evington, Junker, Named Braves Of The Week

February 3, 2025

PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's basketball's Natalie Evington and men's indoor track & field's Norman Junker have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on February 2, 2025.

A native of Red Springs, Evington came off of the bench last week and averaged 17.0 points across a pair of games. The sophomore started the week with a career-high 15 points at Barton on a 5-for-5 clip from the field. Evington closed out the week by establishing a new career high with 19 points against Emmanuel and was 7-for-7 from the field. Evington shot 100-percent on the week and was 10-for-10 from the perimeter. 

Junker took home event title in the Mile Run and the 5000-meter Run at the VMI Winter Relays over the weekend. The senior hit a personal-best time in the mile crossing the finish line in a time of 4:18.92, and recorded a time of 15:09.48 in the 5000m Run.
