PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday afternoon that women's basketball's Lillian Flantos and baseball's Blake Hinson have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on February 18, 2024. 
  
A key force on defense, Flantos started in both games last week to help the Braves pick up a pair of key conference victories. A native of Lumberton, Flantos scored 13 points on the week and tallied seven rebounds. The senior also had five assists and two assists.  
 
A native of New Bern, Hinson played in all four games last week and went 7-for-11 from the plate. The junior finished the week with a pair of doubles, a home run and drove in four runs. Hinson also stole two bases on the week. The week was highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance against IUP on Friday where he drove in four runs.
