PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that softball's Chloe Locklear and baseball's Will Hood have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on March 3, 2024. 

An everyday started behind the plate for the Black & Gold, Locklear hit .444 across six games last week. The Pembroke native registered eight hits highlighted by a pair of doubles and a home run. Locklear drew a trio of walks and drove in a pair of runs as well. 

A native of Raleigh, Hood posted a .462 batting average and a .611 on base percentage last week. The redshirt junior was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate in the opening game of the series against Chowan. Hood finished the week with a home run, five walks and driving in six runs.
