PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that softball's Alona Hanna and baseball's Landon Lucas have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on March 23, 2025.

A native of Lumberton, Hanna went 11-for-19 from the plate and hit .578 for the week. The freshman tallied four triples, one double and drove in four runs. Hanna went four-straight games with a triple. 

Lucas had a big week at the plate hitting .476 on the week. The newcomer drove in 14 runs during the weekend series against Chowan and had four homeruns and a pair of doubles. The Blythewood, S.C., native threw 2.1 innings for the Braves and struck out one batter.
