PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that softball's Summer Bullard and men's track & field's Sean Townes have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on April 6, 2025.

A native of Pembroke, Bullard picked up pair of wins last week and threw 13.2 innings. The junior struck out 19 batters, including 11 against King on Friday. Bullard also went 2-for-4 from the plate last week with one RBI. 

A sophomore, Townes took top honors in the 200-meter Dash and the 400-meter Dash on Saturday at the Braves Classic. Townes recorded a personal-best time in the 200-meter Dash with a time of 21.44 and crossed the finish line in a time of 48.36 in the 400-meter Dash.
