PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that golf's Catherine DeSiena and baseball's Kasen McCawley have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on March 29, 2026.

DeSiena helped the Braves to an 8th-place finish at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational last week where she finished tied for 15th on the individual leaderboard. A native of Oakridge, DeSiena's best round came in the second round of action where she shot a team-best 78. 

A native of Haw River, McCawley was flawless on Saturday throwing a no-hitter against Shorter. The senior struck out 10 batters during Saturday's victory. It was the first no-hitter for the Braves since 2022, but the first solo no-hitter since 2009.
