PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's track & field's Carina Fiorucci and baseball's Jonathon Jacobs have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on April 20, 2025.

A native of Sarasota, Fla., Fiorucci broke her own school record in pole vault with a mark of 3.38m to take third place at the Aggie Invitational on Friday. The sophomore's performance on Friday moved her to second in the Conference Carolinas standings.   

A product of Purnell Swett High School, Jacobs struck out six batters in six innings on the way to picking up the win over Erskine on Saturday. The senior allowed just one run and six hits during his performance.
