PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that softball's Maggie Cunningham and baseball's CW Bayer have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on April 19, 2026.

A native of Indiana, Pa., Cunningham went 5-for-7 from the plate in the doubleheader against Barton to close out the regular season. The freshman drove in five runs during the twinbill. 

Bayer picked up his first win of the season at King on Saturday throwing a career-high five innings. The Newport native struck out three batters, did not allow a run and gave up just three hits.
