PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's track & field's Moureen Kimaiyo and men's track & field's Trent Brown have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on April 27, 2025.

Kimayio earned first team all-conference honors in a pair of events at the Conference Carolinas Championship after winning the 5000-meter and 10000-meter runs. The sophomore closed out the championship with a seventh place finish in the 1500-meter run as well. 

Brown took home the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Year honors following the Conference Championship over the weekend. The Manning, S.C., native claimed top honors in the Decathlon and established the Conference Carolinas meet record in the event. He also placed sixth in Pole Vault and seventh in Javelin Throw.
