PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced on Monday morning that women's track & field's Sofia Skidmore and baseball's Jackson Crute have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on April 26, 2026.

Skidmore took top honors in the 1500-meter run at the Conference Carolinas Championship over the weekend. The sophomore picked up runner-up honors in the 800-meter run at the championship as well. Skidmore also set a new Conference Carolinas Meet Record in the finals of the 1500-meter run on Saturday. 

A native of Wendell, Crute hit .556 from the plate to help the Braves to a 4-0 week. The junior tallied three doubles, drew a pair of walks and drove in nine runs for the Black & Gold. Crute drove in the winning run against Barton to complete the sweep with a walk-off RBI single.
